COTTESMORE Football Club are calling for potential managers to step forward to take charge of the first team and the reserve and U18 sides which the club plans to relaunch this summer.
The club has endured probably the most difficult in its history with pre-season fire damage forcing the reserves and U18 sides to be put on hold for a year, and the first team struggled in the Leicestershire Senior League ultimately finishing bottom.
But chairman Allan Westray is determined to see the club return to its former glory.
He said: “Cottesmore are already looking ahead to the 2012-13 season with a view to getting the club back on track and returning to a three team situation; and to this end we are looking to welcome players for all three teams.”
Current manager Steve Duffy remains in charge but has indicated he will step aside if a suitable replacement came forward.
Chairman Allan Westray said: “It was a hard season and Steve did a wonderful job. He is a committed guy but at times he felt very frustrated.
“A new manager may have different contacts and any applications we get we would be happy to look at.”
Off the pitch repairs following last summer’s arson are well under way.
Mr Westray added: “While renovation work is still ongoing, most of the facilities at Rogues Park are back in operation and the club wishes to take this opportunity to convey very sincere thanks for the help and support given by organisations, clubs and individuals without which the club may well have been unable to continue.
“The players, whose commitment in far from easy circumstances, was also greatly appreciated by the management and committee.”
The club would welcome any new committee members and match day helpers as well as players and applications for any of the three management positions.
Applications should be made to Allan Westray, 35 Redland Road, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 6PH or call 01572 724275 for more details.
