Rushden & Higham United 2 - 3 Bourne Town

THE Wakes scored three second half goals to secure their first win of the season this afternoon.

Bourne were one goal down after just 30 seconds of a poor first half but Bourne manager Darren Munton's half-time team talk worked its magic perfectly.

Within three minutes of the restart Mike Feeley had headed Bourne level and six minutes later Ben Easson cracked home a free kick from the edge of the box.

Craig Rook made it three with a sublime finish which caught the Rushden keeper off his line before Rushden went down to ten men.

Bourne conceded late on from a corner but held on to make it four points from six at the start of the season.

Munton said: "All credit to the lads. Last year we would have lost this sort of game.

"We were lucky to go in just 1-0 down at half-time but in the second half were a lot better. Hopefully we can carry this on."
