Bourne Town boss Darren Munton was pleased to pick up a win against Olney on Saturday and see his team keep a clean sheet.
The Wakes have conceded a few goals in recent matches and so a solid-looking defence was a welcome sight for Munton.
He said: “I was looking for a reaction from the players after the previous few results and got it on Saturday.”
It was a close game most of the way through with both sides having few chances and the defences holding up.
Home-side Olney did have one opportunity when a stray back pass found one of their forwards, but fortunately for Bourne he fluffed his chance.
Other than that the visitors also had one or two chances that according to Munton were not clear cut.
However in the 82nd minute Bourne’s Craig Rook won a crunching tackle, before keeping his composure to find Scott Spearink who picked out Danny Pick to score.
