FOOTBALL: Defeats for UCL trio on Saturday

DEEPING Rangers slipped to their second defeat of the season this afternoon, losing 4-2 at home to Quorn.

Quorn led 3-2 at half time with Michael Byrne scoring both of Deepings' goals.

Both sides were reduced to ten men in the second half with Harry Deane dismissed for Deeping after Quorn goalscorer Edwards received his second yellow. Former Stamford winger Tyrone Kirk scored twice for Quorn.

Quorn moved one above Rangers in the table.

Deeping travel to Holbeach in the UCL Knockout Cup on Wednesday, and then Long Buckby in the league on Saturday.

BLACKSTONES' barren run continued with a defeat in the FA Vase this afternoon.

Stones lost their Second Round Qualifying tie, 3-1 at home to Holbrook Sports.

The Lincoln Road side travel to St Ives on Tuesday for a Knockout Cup tie, and then to Spalding on Saturday.

In the UCL First Division, BOURNE TOWN lost 1-0 away against Northampton Sileby Saints.

The Wakes now have back-to back league matches at home with Burton Park Wanderers visiting the Abbey Lawn on Saturday.
