FOOTBALL: More joy for Rutland sides in the Peterborough and District League

OAKHAM United and Uppingham Town both built on their great starts to the Peterborough and District League season with four goals apiece this afternoon.

Oakham beat Ramsey Town 4-1 and Uppingham won by the same scoreline, seeing off Whittlesey United with goals from Rob Forster, Omar Elkashoty and a brace for Martin Turiccki.

Elsewhere in the premier division, Deeping Rangers Reserves lost 2-1 at home to Parson Drove, Peterborough Sports won 3-2 at Leverington, Moultn Harrox beat King's Cliffe 3-1, Stilton drew 2-2 at home with Pinchbeck, and Riverside ROvers enjoyed the biggest win of the day, thumping Coates 6-0.

Netherton and Moulton have both won three from three. Uppingham sit second with seven points and Oakham are fourth with two wins in their opening two games.

In division one, Langtoft United beat Stamford Bels 3-1, Rhyall beat Castor and Ailsworth 3-1, and Ketton lost 2-0 at home to Holbeach United Reserves.
