RYHALL United FC completed an impressive double promotion at the weekend.
The first team won 5-0 at Woodston Dynamo to ensure they move up to the Peterborough and District League Division One, following on from the reserves’ promotion from Division Five, where they finished third.
The first team were due to play Eye Reserves in their final game of the season yesterday evening with one more point enough to seal the title.
Saturday’s three points were secured with five-star striker Ricky Pozella who continued his amazing season by scoring all five to take his tally to 34 in 23 games for the season.
His first came after just seven minutes when Stuart Moss’ through ball was swiftly finished.
Pozella was unlucky not to double the lead before half time, when he headed past the keeper only for the ball to bounce off the post.
In the opening minutes of the second half, the lead was doubled when Pozella swept home a Phil Bartlett corner.
The hat-trick was completed on the hour with a fierce right foot drive, and a goalmouth scramble led to Pozella bundling home his fourth before he completed the scoring with his fifth, a sweet low left foot shot after being teed up by Eddy Pentney.
