RESULTS elsewhere have not helped Uppingham Town’s cause as they battle to avoid the drop from the Peterborough and District League’s Premier Division.

Town earned a point with a 1-1 draw at Ramsey on Tuesday evening but with Parson Drove winning at Peterborough Sports, Town desperately need points from their final four matches.

Dave Laughton put Uppingham ahead with a well-taken goal but the hosts levelled from the spot.

Town boss Richard Kendrick said: “Ramsey are the best side we have played all season so a draw was a good point.”

l OAKHAM United have few relegation worries after beating Alconbury 5-2 away on Tuesday evening.

Eddie McDonald scored a hat-trick and Stu Lambie and Will Lee were also on target for United.
