UPPINGHAM Town dropped vital points in their battle to stay in the Peterborough and District League Premier Division yesterday.

Town lost 4-1 at Moulton Harrox with Rob Forster scoring Uppingham’s only goal.

The Rutland side were not helped in their cause by Oakham United’s 6-2 at another of the struggling sides, Whittlesey, who were just one place above Uppingham at the start of play.

Uppingham, who remain second bottom with two games remaining, are now four points adrift of third-bottom Parson Drove who they play at home on Saturday.

King’s Cliffe remain second after winning 4-0 at Coates Athletic. Top side Pinchbeck remain three clear after beating bottom side Alconbury 10-0.

* IN Division One Stamford Bels lost 5-0 at Thorney but, with games in hand of the sides around them at the foot of the table, Bels’ fate remains in their hands.

Ketton, whose form has taken a dive in recent weeks, lost 3-2 at Whittlesey Blue Star.
