faces in shake-up

Bourne Town manager Darren Munton has completed the changes to his backroom staff with four new faces at the Abbey Lawn.

Coming in as his assistant will be Nick Buff, former manager of Leicestershire League side Cottesmore Amateurs, with former player Lee Wood returning to The Wakes as coach.

Also coming in are John Ball and Dave Panton, former squad players of last season’s triple-winning Peterborough League side Moulton Harrox.

Club secretary Bob Lambert said: “This will be their first venture into management and the committee have given them their full backing.”

He added: “Off the pitch, the new spectator barriers are in place and new fencing will be erected within the next three weeks bringing the ground up to FA requirements.”

The club’s annual meeting will be held at the Len Pick Suite on July 22 at 7.30pm. Anyone wishing to stand for election or who wants to add an item to the agenda should apply in writing by July 8 to the Secretary, Bourne Town FC, 42 Edinburgh Crescent, Bourne, PE10 9DU.

l The Wakes’ pre-season training starts tomorrow at 2pm at The Abbey Lawn with seven friendly matches already lined up before the start of the season.
