Ketton rally as end nears

Ketton 1 FC Inter 0

KETTON’S season gained a further air of respectability with a hard fought home win over FC Inter on Saturday.

It was a game of few chances with the solitary goal coming courtesy of a well-taken Alex Sismore penalty midway through the second half.

The result moved Ketton up to mid-table with just one game left to play in the Peterborough League Division One.

Manager Andy Gray said: “It was a difficult game on Saturday. Both teams tried to get the ball down but that’s near on impossible on our pitch at the moment.

“It could have gone either way but I thought we deserved to edge it.

“It’s just a shame those couple of good results didn’t come earlier in the year to act as a springboard.”

Ketton: Jamie Scott, Alex Sismore, Scott Holland, Martin Trawford, Johnny Holmes (Scott Murthwaite), Ian Marsh, Alex Collyer, Matt Woodman, Jamie Hill (Alex Griffin), Simon Cranwell, James Farrell (Calum Betts). Subs not used: John Hoyles, Andy Gray.

l IN the second division, Ryhall United lost 2-0 at home to Whittlesey Blue Star.
