Farcet Utd 2 - 2 Langtoft Utd

LANGTOFT United manager Ben Martin had demanded a vast improvement from his side following their 3-0 defeat at Hampton a week earlier, and for 82 minutes he wasn’t disappointed at Farcet on Saturday.

After just two minuets Chris Joiner fired home from close range to give Langtoft the lead and they added number two on 20 minuets when Tom Smith volleyed home after neat work from Phil Gadsby, Tony Wooding and Tom Glindon.

Two up at half time, Langtoft looked comfortable and with Andy Ellis back in the side should have easily put the game out of reach of their hosts.

However, with eight minuets remaining, a long ball over the top caught the defence square and Farcet pulled a goal back. Then, with the last kick of the game, the home side levelled, capitalising on a bad defensive mistake.

Langtoft boss Martin said: “We have again shot ourselves in the foot with silly mistakes.

“We looked a bit better this week but we have to work on our defence to be a top side we have to stop conceding silly goals.”

Langtoft United: Robbie Virgin, Jordan Avis, Andrew Ellis, Tom Glindon, Jason Gough, Daniel Jarman, Chris Joiner, Calum Parker, Thomas Smith, Adam Sparkes Robbie Virgin Tony Wooding. Subs: Phil Gadsby, Luke Newbold.

The hosts pulled one back with Callum Fox firing home but on the stroke of half time, Oakham again to go inat the break 3-1 up.

Langtoft manager Andy Wild rang the changes in the second half, bringing on Phil Barker and Ollie Finding, and this paid off. Dan Morris worked his way through the defence to score, and with ten minutes remaining, Craig Chamberlian levelled.
