Deeping Athletic retained the Hereward Cup on Sunday.
Simon Dethick’s side overcame Hampton Sports 3-1 in a sun-baked showpiece clash at the Riverside Pavilion in Woodston.
David Burton-Jones blasted Deeping into a first-half advantage, but that was wiped out by a deflected Gary Gibbs strike early in the second period.
But Athletic ensured they lifted the trophy again thanks to a couple of goals in the final quarter-of-an-hour. Ben Porter restored their advantage with an exquisite lob before Burton-Jones pounced again to seal victory, but he was denied a hat-trick when seeing a last-gasp penalty saved by Hampton keeper Lea Jordan.
