Neil Miller has stepped up to take charge Cottesmore Amateurs after the sudden departure of Gary Drake.
Drake, who arrived as joint manager last summer and took sole charge at Rogues Park just a month ago, has been forced to leave the club due to work commitments.
Chairman Allan Westray said: “It was all pretty rapid. Gary was gutted because he had done a great job last year.
“If he does come back this way he will be very welcome.”
Miller had been expected to run Amateurs’ reserve side which will be relaunched this season but Westray, who was keen for continuity, said: “He always wanted to work with the first team in the second year so he has taken on the first team job and Bryan Patton will take the reserves.”
Midfielder Ian Harrison will be Miller’s assistant with Rich Giblin helping to run the reserves.
Cottesmore have a win, a draw and a loss to show from their first pre-season friendlies, and are due to play Ryhall United at Rogues Park tomorrow evening.
Amateurs drew 1-1 and then lost 5-1 in back-to-back matches against Harborough Town before beating Croxton Kerrial Dons 5-3 in their latest match, on Saturday.
