Substitute Olly Brown-Hill hit a crucial winner as Stamford grabbed a vital 1-0 away victory at Newcastle Town in Saturday’s Evo-Stik League Division One South clash.
Brown-Hill struck with just 12 minutes remaining to help maintain the Daniels’ place in the play-off places.
Graham Drury’s side are now back up to fourth in the table after leapfrogging Frickley who were beaten at third-placed Bedworth.
The Daniels’ promotion cause was also helped by play-off rivals Cleethorpes, Leek Town and Stocksbridge all dropping points.
Saturday’s success has seen Stamford take 13 points from their last five league games after keeping their 17th clean sheet of the season in all competitions.
They host a Gresley side next weekend who caused a huge upset by becoming only the second team this season - Stamford were the first - to defeat runaway league leaders Basford.
