STAMFORD maintained the pressure on top side Ilkeston with a 4-1 victory at home to Romulus on Saturday.
Jake Gibson opened the scoring for Stamford at the Premier Kitchens Arena in the 17th minute on Saturday but the lead was short-lived as Romulus levelled just four minutes later.
Nick Ghislanzoni restored the Daniels’ lead on the hour and late goals from Bruno Holden and Ghislanzoni secured the points.
The Daniels are third in the Evo-Stik League First Division South, three points behind the leaders and one behind second-placed Sheffield, but have played two less games than both the sides above them.
Stamford play Coalville at home tomorrow (Tuesday). Kick off is at 7.45pm.
