Stamford 4 Lincoln United 0

STAMFORD picked up their first win in five games with a resounding 4-0 victory at home to Lincoln United on Saturday.

Danny Brooks, Nick Ghislanzoni, Andy Toyne and Kieren Watson all scored as the Daniels rounded off their home matches for the year with a new goalkeeper. Former Hucknall keeper, Ross Whalin made his debut after Mario Ziccardi left during the week.

Stamford boss Tommy Brookbanks was delighted with the win. he said: “We’ve blown hot and cold in a lot of games but this was a complete 90-minute performance.

“A clean sheet is a real bonus and a nice way for Ross to start his Stamford career.”

The Daniels face new league leaders Grantham Town away on Boxing Day - their final fixture of 2011 - and host New Mills at the Premier Kitchens Arena in their first game of 2012.
