Oakham United to play Ramsey in first league match

OAKHAM United’s first game in the Peterbrough and District League premier division is against Ramsey on Saturday.

They were due to play Alconbury however the game was rearranged and up until yesterday their first game was due to be against Uppingham on Wednesday.

However now the club will play Ramsey at home, kicking off at 3pm.

Oakham played a friendly against Corby Pegasus at home on Wednesday night and lost 5-3.

Joint first team manager Pat Johnson said: “Corby were quite a physical side and turned up with about 18 lads, we had about 14 and while it wasn’t a bad performance the defence needs a bit of work.”

New signing Chris Macroyal, who has switched from Blackstones, scored twice and Eddie McDonald scored the other for Oakham.
