Sutton Bridge 4 Ryhall United 5

RYHALL United came from behind four times to win a nine-goal thriller 5-4 at Sutton Bridge.

Despite dominating the early exchanges United fell behind when a long ball was not cut out leaving the Sutton Bridge forward an easy finish to open the scoring.

Ryhall hit back with a quick equaliser courtesy of an excellent finish from Eddy Pentney. But United’s defence with confusion among the back four.

Danny Sheehan powered home a header to level but in the final minute of the first half Sutton were back in front after scrambling the ball past Keeper Jimmy Russon.

Outstanding individual skill saw Pentney leave his marker and cooly slot home Ryhall’s third 10 minutes after the break but they fell behind again. Russon raced from his area to clear a through ball but the clearance fell to a Sutton player who chipped it in from 35 yards.

For the fourth time in the match United equalised. This time, Phil Bartlett rifled into the top corner and then Ryhall took the lead when Ricky Pozella saw the keeper off the line and chipped him with a great effort.

The drama continued when defender Richard Wilkinson saw a straight red after up-ending the Sutton forward with 20 minutes left but the 10 men of Ryhall dug in and hung on for three valuable points.
