Bourne Reds U10s made amends for their County Cup exit a week earlier by winning 3-0 at Ketton in Peterborough Junior Alliance League Cup.
The home team started brightly but Rocky Milne scored twice and Alfie Hick secured the victory in their second quarter final match in two weeks.
Bourne opened the scoring after 10 minutes. A superb long range strike from Hick hit the underside of the crossbar and as the Ketton keeper bravely scrambled for the ball, but Reds striker Milne was perfectly placed to knock the ball home.
Milne claimed a second 10 minutes later when Hick passed across to Sol Rayment who delivered the ball back to Hick then onto Milne who fired past the home keeper.
Both teams upped the pressure in the second half, and Ketton were almost rewarded with a goal after 15 minutes. Only an outstanding and brave, sliding tackle from Patrick Bishell denied Ketton a goal.
Bourne responded well to Ketton’s attacks and Hick sent a perfect long range pass to the feet of Harry Kirk who fought his way through the defence and rifled the ball low and hard into the back of a net.
There were admirable performance from both teams but it is Bourne who will face Crowland in the semi-finals.
