Parkside 2

Ryhall United 2

FOR the second week running Ryhall United relied on a last minute goal to salvage a point.

Captain Danny Sheehan struck with just seconds left to earn a draw in what had been a frustrating game against Parkside.

Ryhall had dominated possession early on but without creating decent chances. The best fell to Callum Harris but his low shot was saved by the legs of the keeper.

After 20 minutes, Parkside took the lead with their first attack of the game. Their winger was allowed to coast into the box and toe his shot past keeper Adam Jarvis.

The goal swung the momentum of the game and five minutes later Parkside were awarded a penalty for a clumsy tackle in the area. Jarvis pulled off a fine save to keep out the spot kick.

With ten minutes of the half remaining Ryhall fell two behind when a forward raced away from the United defence to fire home.

Ryhall picked up in the second half. Harris should have scored from six yards and Ricky Pozella cracked a free kick against the bar before Adam Watts slammed a left foot drive home with 10 minutes left.

Ryhall bombarded the goal but Parkside managed to hold firm until the last minute when Sheehan picked his spot and curled his shot into the top corner.
