Royce’s unbeaten run came to an end when the 2005 U14s were beaten 3-2 at home by Bushby on Sunday.

The visitors had most of the chances in a first half when Royce again were slow out of the blocks. Royce only really created one chance of significance which Ross Bussingham put over the bar.

A smart piece of goalkeeping by Jordon Wallace then ensured that the teams went in all square at half time.

Royce took the lead ten minutes into the second half when the visitors keeper couldn’t hold on to a Sam Wood free kick and Nathan Liptrott was on hand to stab the ball over the line.

The lead was soon doubled when William Devere Summers slipped the ball to Ross Bussingham who neatly tucked the ball in to the far corner of the net.

But Bushby showed tremendous fighting spirit and were rewarded when a free kick wasn’t cleared leaving an easy tap in at the far post.

They then levelled when a corner crept in at the near post and, after having another disallowed when the ball went out of play, Bushby sealed the win with ten minutes left.

Royce: Jordon Wallace, Ryan Henderson, Zied Cheikh, Oscar Body, Charlie Lewis, Nathan Liptrott, Liam Truscott, Sam Wood, Matty Brown, Josh Chapman, Ross Bussingham, William Devere Summers, Isaac Limbrick, Joe Buckle.
