Uppingham Town who beat Peterborough Sports Parkway in the PFA Senior Cup were caught on the rebound by the city side in the league on Saturday.

Town lost 5-0 away with Steven Mastin claiming a hat-trick and Kyle Orange a brace as Sports caught Uppingham with four goals in the final 18 minutes.

Uppingham boss Richard Kendrick said: “It’s always difficult with back-to-back games against a side and it’s what I feared could happen. We were made to pay for the week before.

“It was only two-nil until we threw caution to the wind. Then they caught us with a killer ball over the top.

“The lads did better than 5-0 suggests but we left gaps as we pushed forward. Tom didn’t have a chance with any of the goals.”

Town have drawn unbeaten Moulton Harrox in the next round of the PFA Senior Cup.

Kendrick said: “It’s one of the hardest draws that we could have had so I hope we have a full strength side available.”

Uppingham have a week off before travelling to play Stilton.
