Wakes win helps restore confidence

Bourne Town 2 Olney Town 0

THE Wakes look like ending their season with a flourish.

Darren Munton’s men are now unbeaten in three matches after completing a double over Olney.

Keith Gray broke the deadlock midway through the opening period only to succumb to injury almost immediately.

His replacement Tom Dunn won a penalty that Brazilian ace Ikharo Leopoldino steered wide and it wasn’t until the final minute that Seb Hood wrapped up the points by getting his head on a Munton corner.

Before then Bourne had to soak up plenty of pressure and keeper Dan Jarman pulled off one excellent save before his side struck again.

Munton said: “A few good results means the lads have a bit of confidence behind them. This was a good all-round performance and I’m well happy.”

Bourne: Jarman, Jesson, Braithwaite, Smith, Humphries, G. Staffieri (Moss), Nelson, Mason, Leopoldino (Munton), Gray (Dunn). Unused: Cardall.
