Stamford and District Bowls League round-up and results




Wittering notched up their fourth maximum points win in a row to stay top of Division Two in the Stamford and District Bowls League.

They defeated Greetham Valley Eagles and are now 22 points ahead of second-placed Empingham.

Ryhall, who are 12 points adrift at the bottom, had an encouraging maximum points win against Market Overton Tornadoes.

Blackstones C’s victory over Stamford Town C in Division One increases their lead to 24 points ahead of second-placed Ketton Kingfishers who lost against Bourne Town.

At the bottom Ketton Kestrels had a welcome win against fellow strugglers Barnack Saxons who they now move above on shot difference.

Barnack Vikings stay in second place in Division Three despite losing to third-placed Bourne Eau.

Market Deeping Royals are top, two points ahead of the Vikings who they play today (Friday).

The highest scoring rinks of the week were Empingham’s Malcolm Mann, Vic Pheasant and Jonathan Corby’s 33-3 success against Barnack B and Oakham A’s Matt Murrant, Beryl Birch and Ray Gregory’s 30-3 triumph.
