Great Scott storms to fifth successive Valentine’s victory

Aaron Scott stormed to a fifth successive victory in the Stamford Striders St Valentine’s 30k race which was held on Sunday.

Scott, the current course record holder, defied the strong winds and hail to lead the field home again in a time of 1hr 40mins 47secs.

David Hudson from BRJ Run and Tri was nearly four minutes behind Scott in second place while Craig Taylor from Holme Pierpoint took third spot.

Jim Morris was the first Stamford Strider home in 20th place with Mark Popple next in 29th spot.

Tony Gilbert led the Bourne Town Harriers contingent with a 108th place finish while Nicola Ferguson was first back for Rutland Running and Triathlon Club in 258th spot.
