Athletes from Bourne Town Harriers continued their busy weekend by taking part in the Perkins Great Eastern Run and Anna’s Hope 5k Fun Run in Peterborough.

Pride of place goes to Cameron Everist who comprehensively won the 5k Fun Run in a time of 17:05 minutes.

Other Bourne Town Harrier athletes who took part included Molly Bennett, Richard Cooper, Maisie Brownlow, Abi Cooper, Elin James, Owen James and Roy James.

Two Bourne athletes competing for Grantham AC also took part in the 5k. Aaron Hunt finished in third place in 18:31, and Saskia Hunt finished in 58th place 12th girl in 23:05 with a new personal best by 21 seconds.

In the Great Eastern Run itself Bourne Town Harrier Suzie Brownlow ran brilliantly to be the 61st female to finish the race in a time of 1:38:56.

For the sixth year in a row it was a Kenyan who crossed the line first and Philip Koech, a tiny 28 year-old, hit the tape in a sizzling 61.40 to break the record of 62.16 set by fellow Kenyan Edwin Kipyego in 2010.
