Harriers up to scratch

BOURNE Town Harriers held their annual junior members Track and Field tournament on Saturday Bourne Grammar School.

Forty-two young athletes took part, competing at 100m, 200m, long jump, shot put, discuss and 1,500m.

Awards were presented to winners judged via an age-ability handicapping system as well as for scratch titles.

Handicap trophy winners: Long Jump Champion, Lauren Brown; 1,500m Champion, Aaron Hunt; Girls Track champion, Lauren Brown; Boys Track champion Aaron Hunt; Girls Field Champion Lauren Brown; Boys Field Champion Ben Jagger.

Scratch title winner: Girls Track Lauren Brown, Boys Track Andy Noble, Girls Field Olivia Conway, Boys Field Champion Ben Jagger.

l BOURNE Town Harriers ran at Thurlby on Sunday in the 3k and 10k runs.

The club also used the races to incorporate their club championship races and Joe Howells secured the junior boys title finishing in third place overall in the race. Girls champion went to Emily Stevens.

For the seniors Vaughan Roberts took the title, and Penny Lamb took the ladies championship.
