A hat-trick from top scorer Liam Harrold sent Blackstones to the top of the United Counties League Division One table on Tuesday night.

Harrold’s treble helped Andy Lodge’s side to a 4-0 away victory at S&L Corby and took his tally to 12 goals in seven starts.

Matt Carter was also on target for Blackstones who went above Raunds at the top on goal difference. They host Olney Town on Saturday.

Bourne saw their three-match winning run in Division One ended after a 1-0 home defeat against Harrowby United.

A first half penalty from Sam Grouse was enough to clinch victory for the Arrows, but the Wakes were left to rue a missed spot kick when top scorer Jezz Goldson-Williams blazed over.

Eddie McDonald also saw a late header hit the upright as Bourne dropped below their victorious visitors in the table.

Deeping missed out on the chance to close the gap on the leading lights in the Premier Division after a 2-0 away defeat at Desborough.

A goal in each half from Olly Jones and Ian Hall condemned Deeping to only second league loss of the season.

Only goal difference is keeping Stamford out of the Evo-Stik Division One South play-off places after they secured a 2-1 away at Gresley Rovers.

Two goals in four first half minutes from Eliot Putman and Liam Adams laid the foundations for Stamford’s victory.

Despite Matthew Melbourne halving the deficit with 18 minutes remaining, Stamford held out to extend their unbeaten run to five games.
