Reigning champions record brace of victories
Bourne Rugby Club have made a strong start to their defence of the Hodgkinson Cup crown.
The reigning holders have recorded a brace of victories in the first two nights of the popular six-a-side competition at the Abbey Lawn.
An opening night victory over Bourne Town Football Club was followed with a win over the Mighty Ducks.
Jordan Temple had hit an unbeaten 34 as Mighty Ducks posted 55-5 which was chased down by the Rugby Club with Tom Dixon smashing an unbeaten 27 off just five balls.
The Football Club did bounce back from their opening night defeat with victory over Motley Crew who had won their first game against Mighty Ducks.
An unbeaten 28 from Ben Woodward and Courtney Kruger's 26 not out helped the Football Club make 96-0 (batsmen retire after passing 25 runs).
Motley Crew were then restricted to 51-1 in their reply with Darren Munton claiming an incredible caught and bowled to return 1-6 from his over.
Baston and Bourne Skip Hire tied their match on Tuesday night after both sides finished on 52-1.
Baston take on Bentley Builders next after they recorded an emphatic victory over the Happy Hookers.
Jono Howard hit an unbeaten 26 before retiring to help Bentley Builders post 86-1.
Josh Bentley then took 2-1 and Rob Dunn 0-1 as Happy Hookers were bowled out for 13 in their reply.
