Dan Hughes hit his maiden century as Ketton Sports stormed to a convincing win in Division Two of the Rutland League on Sunday.

Hughes plundered 19 fours and a six in his 82-ball 111 as Sports made 303-4 from their 45 overs against March at Pit Lane.

Mat Bird (29), Freddie Renton (23), Joe Evans (20) and Adam Renton (34no) also contributed to the Ketton cause in an excellent batting display.

Nick Kennett then claimed a superb 5-16 and Oliver Parkinson picked up 4-20 as March were bowled out for 101 in their reply.

Market Deeping moved to the top of the Division Two table with a seven-wicket win at previous leaders Werrington.

They dismissed their hosts for 117 and needed less than 20 overs to reach the required target as they continue their bid to regain their top flight status at the first attempt after relegation last season.

Adam Muspratt took 3-11 while Hayatullah Niazi and Kester Sainsbury claimed 2-27 and 2-29 respectively.

Skipper James Hook then led the victory charge as he smashed 10 fours and a six in his 67 not out after opener Josh Smith had made 30.

Ufford Park are in third place after a three-wicket win at Newborough.

Alex Mears took 3-27 and Sandeep Dahiya delivered 3-30 as Newborough were dismissed for 144 after batting first.

Tim Hawkins then hit an unbeaten 51 while Danny Harrington added 35 as the victory was secured in the 34th over.

Barnack's batsmen were in prolific form as they maintained pole position in Division One with a high-scoring victory over Uppingham Town.

The table-toppers had batted first and amassed a huge 348-4 from their 45 overs with two players scoring centuries.

Opener Ajaz Akhtar plundered 28 fours and three sixes in his 169 before being bowled by Ryan Sheehan.

Asim Butt then blasted 17 boundaries in his 110 until he was caught by Sam Hodson off the bowling of Liam Geddis.

Town's top order of Hodson (55), George Morley (44) and Jamie Richardson (58) led the reply before Toby Rees added 41 and Charlie Cox cracked 32 as Uppingham closed their 45 overs on 271-8.

Oakham were bowled out for 99 as they went down to a nine-wicket defeat against City at the Lime Kilns.

Wayne Corbett top-scored with 35 before an unbeaten 44 from Danyaal Malik steered City to their success.

Bourne suffered their fourth defeat of the season after a seven-wicket reversal at Uffington 2nds in Division Three.

Will Gardner (38), Stanley Watson (30) and Yuvi Ranault (23no) had top-scored as Bourne were bowled out for 146 after batting first.

David Conlon claimed 3-28 from nine overs for Uffington while Luca Harrison, Ed Berwick and Dan Britton all bagged a brace each.

Gardner, Jordan Temple and Henry Brewster all picked up a wicket for Bourne in the Uffington reply but the hosts triumphed in the 39th over.

Damien Herrick hit an unbeaten 40 for Uffington while Dean Cornish made 24 and James Saralis 27 as Bourne boosted the home side's cause by conceding 44 extras.

Oakham 2nds conceded their clash with Hampton while Ufford Park 2nds were beaten by 34 runs against Newborough 2nds in Division Four East.

Newborough made 176-7 after batting first with Peter Taylor and Jan Neville taking a couple of wickets each for Ufford.

Taylor then top-scored with 32 as Ufford were bowled out for 142 in their reply with Josh Lawton taking 4-33 for the victorious hosts.
