Hussain takes five wickets to defeat Oakham

Oakham were unable to come away from Kings Keys with a victory in the Rutland League Division Two, they were beaten by two wickets.

Keys won the toss and put the visitors in to bat. Opener Cameron Flowers started well with 28 and his opening partner Rory Brown did a little better with 36, but he like many others to come lost his wicket to Ansar Hussain.

Hussain finished with figures of 5-19 in a match winning performance,he accounted for the next two Oakham wickets before skipper Sean Cowley made a stand from number five in the order.

He struck 89 to give Oakham some hope of getting something from the game, but the tail failed to offer much support and Oakham’s Sunday side were all out for 187.

There were no real stars of Keys’ batting performance, instead it was a solid team effort which got them over the line and they reached their target in the 46th over, finishing on 188-8.
