Bourne Town footballer Han Stevens to attend training camp with Gibraltar Under 19s
Promising Bourne Town footballer Han Stevens is hoping to make his mark on the international stage.
Stevens – who made 16 appearances for the Wakes last season in Division One of the United Counties League – has been invited to attend an international training camp with Gibraltar Under 19s.
The 17-year-old joined the Wakes last term under dual registration from Boston United’s Academy side who are proud of their protégé.
A spokesman for the Pilgrims said: “We are immensely proud to announce that Boston United Under 19 youth player Hans Stevens has been invited to attend an international training camp with the Gibraltar Under 19s.
“Hans has done very well over the season and to be invited to an international training camp as a first year with Boston United shows the ability he has and it’s great to see his hard work and ethic being rewarded.
“He now has the task of trying to break into the Under 19 national team squad which would be great for Hans considering he has only just turned 17-years-old.
“Overall this invitation is a fantastic achievement and speaks volumes of Hans’ attitude and ability. We wish him the best of luck and hope he enjoys this opportunity.”
Jake Van Der Drift, John Swales and Aaron Warrener were the prize winners at Bourne Town’s recent presentation night.
Van Der Drift was named first team’s managers player of the year with goalkeeper Swales securing the players’ player accolade while Warrener was the top goalscorer.
Ben Romaine won the reserves’ most improved category with Luke Glover being named players’ player and goalkeeper Kyle Evans taking the manager’s accolade.
