Ketton enjoyed their most significant victory of the season on Saturday when they beat Cambs Division One reigning champions Ramsey.

Ramsey, who were sitting third at the start of the day, fell out of contention to fight it out for the title again after losing heavily at in-form Ketton by 90 runs.

Hired gun Rob Woolley smashed 125 of Ketton’s 237-4 - his second ton in three matches - to blast past 600 runs for the season. Aussie Ben Bryant (70) offered him most support before steady South African slow bowler Ulrich Van Duyker took charge with the ball.

Van Duyker rarely takes less than three wickets in an innings, but yesterday he bagged his first five-wicket haul. His 5-31 took him to 37 wickets for the Division One season, the best tally in the competition. Shakoor Mahmood (4-29) was also in good form for Ketton who have collected 100 points in their last four matches.

Right behind Van Duyker on 36 wickets is 15 year-old left-arm spinner Harrison Craig who impressed again on Saturday even though his Nassington side were surprisingly beaten by 35 runs at Waresley, Craig took 5-47 and Ryan Duffy 4-29 as the home side were dismissed for 196, but that proved to be plenty despite another sterling effort from Cambs player Dan Robinson.

Robinson scored 55 to move close to 700 runs for the season, but only skipper Alex Laud (23) offered any sort of support.
