As Premiership football clubs up and down the country were looking to do one last deal on transfer deadline day, Ketton Lions Cricket Club announced new additions which should see them compete with the best in the area once again.
Ketton skipper Rob Vitas has lured former Oundle big hitting batsman Zeeshan Manzoor to Pit Lane and he will play in all formats of the game for the Lions. Last season Manzoor scored 691 runs in the Northants Premier Division, with a strike rate of 130.
Also coming into the Lions’ Den is off spinner Lee Thompson, who has played for Woolpit in the East Anglian Premier and 19-year-old Australian batsmen Peter Rowe from Hampton .
Thompson will team up with last season’s top wicket taker Ulricht Van Duyker who returns to terrorise batsmen once again this year with his off spin.
However the club’s top scoring batsman from last season, Rob Woolley, will not be returning this season.
Ketton start nets training on February 25, at Stamford Girls School. They will run for six weeks from 6.45pm until 8.15pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend.
