It looks like Oakham United and Coates Athletic will be fighting it out for more than just one piece of silverware this season as the Rutland club set up a quarter-final date in the PFA Senior Cup with their rivals on Saturday.

Oakham won 4-0 against Holbeach Reserves in the second round of the cup to progress to the next round and the winners of that tie will be expected to reach the final.

Lewis Leckie score a second half hat-trick after the sides went in scoreless at halftime. Substitute Ben Eassom added a four off the break.

Meanwhile Coates Athletic moved three points clear at the top of the Chromasport & Trophies Peterborough Premier Division after completing an eighth competitive victory.

Coates won 4-0 at bottom club Crowland thanks to goals from Daniel French, Kevin Gilbert, Matt Heron and Dan Drane.

Third-placed Netherton lost more ground after drawing 1-1 at Pinchbeck United. Top scorer Ben Cullen was back at the city club for the weekend, on leave from the armed forces, and scored, but Ollie Maltby replied for the home side. Maltby was then sent off in the last minute for dissent.

Stilton are now level on points with Netherton after seeing off Riverside 5-1. Craig Smith (2), Richard Challinor, Benjamin Panting and Philip Wells scored for Mark Baines’ side.

Sawtry were also 5-1 winners over Uppingham, while Langtoft came from behind to beat neighbours Deeping Rangers 3-1 with goals from Dan Evans, Calum Parker and Tom Glindon.
