Andy Lodge has resigned as manager of Blackstones.

Blackstones are on the look-out for a new manager following the resignation of manager Andy Lodge.

A club statement said that on Sunday, following the 2-1 defeat at Lutterworth Athletic at the weekend, Lodge had decided to resign as manager with immediate effect,

It read: “Andy Lodge has decided to step away from management. Daniel French has agreed to step in as caretaker manager for a short period.

“The chairman and committee wish to thank Andy for all his hard work and energy with the team.

“There is now a vacancy for a first team manager at Blackstones FC.

“If you’re interested in a challenge, please contact Gary Peace (chairman) on 07979 442123 or e-mail gpservices7@gmail.com

Lodge took over as Blackstones boss at the start of 2017 and leaves the club in sixth place in Division One of the United Counties League.

He said: “It’s been on my mind for a while that I wanted to step away from management. I still want to stay involved with the club, but not as the manager.

“I don’t want to use the same old excuses about work and family. I have to be brutally honest and I felt it was the right time for me to come away from management.

“I hadn’t been enjoying it as much as I wanted, but didn’t want to put a time limit on it. I just decided that management wasn’t right for me and wanted to step aside.

“The wins are great, but the losses do stick with you for a couple of days afterwards so I won’t miss that feeling.”
