Market Overton Cricket Club won their opening game of the Rutland League season, beating King’s Keys by 24 runs.

The Rutlanders were put in to bat and made 155 all out in their 40 overs.

Brian Makwana and Paul Thwaites equal top-scored with 34 runs each.

In reply, King’s Keys were dismissed for 131 in 39.3 overs.

Mark Hudeson (3-20) and Mike Roberts (4-32) caused most damage with the ball.

This weekend’s matches include Marko’s first home game of the year, against Ufford Park, and Uppingham’s opening game, away against King’s Keys which is also in division two.

Ketton take on Tilton and Lowesby away from home in division three. Uppingham 2nds host Hampton 2nds and Barrowden travel to Ufford 2nds in Division six.
