Molly Peel leads Bourne Town Harriers home at Anglian Schools

A number of Bourne Town Harrier junior athletes represented Lincolnshire in the Anglian Schools Cross Country Championships held at Boston on Saturday.

Lincolnshire were competing against Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire in an event that many of the counties were using to select athletes to compete in the national finals.

Molly Peel and Elin James were selected in the junior girls event. They were the top two Lincolnshire athletes finishing in 11th and 14th places overall. Both have secured their selection to represent Lincolnshire in the National Championships.

Also ensuring her selection was Beth Howells who was the first Lincolnshire athlete to finish in the senior girls race. Cameron Everist finished in 18th place overall in the boys senior event. He was the second Lincolnshire athlete home. He also looks certain to be selected for the Nationals.

Other Harrier athletes representing Lincolnshire were Max James in the year 7 boys race, Matthew Colman in the junior boys event and Molly Bennett in the intermediate girls race.
