STAMFORD Tennis Club is celebrating Wimbledon by offering reduced membership fees.

This weekend sees the climax of Wimbledon and, anticipating increased interest in tennis ahead of the summer holidays, the club is offering reduced adult membership fees of £75. This entitles players to use the club’s facilities until March 2012. Junior membership starts at £15 and family memberships are also available.

As well as social tennis, the club offers coaching all year round and holds a series of events .

The Conduit Road club is based in the grounds of Stamford School and boasts seven all weather courts, four with floodlights.

Mid Season League Report

STAMFORD completed the Huntingdon and Peterborough mixed league with all four teams faring well.

The A and B team finished third and sixth in division one to ensure top division tennis next season. The C team narrowly missed promotion to division 2, finishing a respectable third in division 3. The additional D team which entered the league this year completed their matches unbeaten and finished top of division 6, earning promotion next season.

In the Peterborough and District League, the teams have completed half of their fixtures.

In division 1, the A team are second and the B team fourth. In division 2, the C and D team are holding similar positions with the C team second and the Ds fourth.

Last but not least, the F team are enjoying close matches and are currently mid table.
