STAMFORD U11s fielded a side keen to prove themselves against a strong visiting Sleaford team last Sunday.
Straight from the kick off, it was obvious this would be a tough match with forwards trading tackles and neither team making any inroads until a break was created at quarter time from the Stamford forwards.
Stand-in scrum half Dickinson found Jamie Fitzpatrick on the wing, who just stayed in touch to cross the line for Stamford.
In the second half with the wind behind them, Stamford grew in confidence with forwards Cox, Nightingale, Tye and Giddings putting increasing pressure on Sleaford and giving their attack nowhere to manoeuvre.
However, Stamford missed tackles and failed to halt a strong run from Sleaford who draw level.
As the half progressed, the superior Stamford forward play allowed a brace of tries to be punched through the middle by an on-form Jack Batty to secure a final score of 3-1 to Stamford.
Stamford: G Chandler, J Fitzpatrick, S Klimes, H Nightingale, J Batty, W Dickinson, T Giddings, E Cox, C Tye, Daniel Moon, Harley Riches, Charlie Penrose-Toms.
l STAMFORD fielded a mixed team for their second game against a strong Sleaford side.
