Oakham’s Chris Jones played the last 11 holes in one under par, and had a birdie on the 18th to thank for victory in the June Saturday Stableford at Stoke Rochford.
His total of 40 points was enough to edge home ahead of Ashley McLean (39) and Andrew Watson (38).
The prize for lowest gross score was won by Nick Watson with 34 points.
The following day, 68 players lined up in the Coronation Cup which took the format of a bogey competition.
The winner was eight- handicapper Richard Allen who finished four holes better than the course. He narrowly edged out Ben Smith and Rory Croft. Roger Rawson won the prize for the lowest gross score.
Stoke Rochford seniors beat Newark 7½-½ and Oundle 5-3.
