Uppingham-based Stoneygate continued their utter domination of Leicestershire Rugby League Division 3 with this demolition of Harborough Vets on Saturday.

The home side ran in 12 tries, impressively converting all of them.

Fantastic hat-tricks were scored by both wingers, the first by local Uppingham boy Steven Farrow, who was making his debut for Stoneygate. He was equally well supported with tries from former Oakham School boys Tom Archer and Cillian Brugha. Henry Bridgwood also weighed in with three tries .

Stoneygate club skipper Graeme Ough said: “The pleasing thing apart from the great standard of rugby was attracting more than 50 locals to watch the game.

“We also gave debuts to Marcus Dux, from the Vaults in Uppingham, who had a promising match, along with 20-year-old Steven Farrow, from Uppingham, who scored three great individual tries and is a real find for ‘Gate.”

Stoneygate entertain Shepshed on Saturday at 2.15pm.
