STAMFORD Indoor Bowling Club has enjoyed a very successful season of league bowling over the winter months.

The 18 leagues featured 163 teams competing in approximately 2,000 games.

David Howarth of Bourne was among the most successful platers, steering four of his teams to the top of their respective league tables and achieving a notable third place in another.

His Outcasts team won the Wednesday Afternoon First Division by seven points. His Typhoons triumphed in the Thursday Afternoon league by 5 points, the Brunnians won the Friday Morning First Division by a single point and his Friday afternoon side, Bourne Again, topped the division one table by eight points.

The comparative failure of a third place with the Wakes in Monday afternoon’s first division gives David some work to do over the summer.

The relatively new team of Maltesers, captained by Gino Vassallo, in Monday afternoon’s third tier did remarkably well and one of the clubs outstanding juniors Jon Bailey, captained Googlie Bears into top spot in the Wednesday Evening Second Division.
