Braunston B enjoyed the most successful week in the Stamford and Rutland Table Tennis league with a 7-3 victory in the latest round of matches.
A consistent team performance ensured Braunston bagged a 7-3 win over Nomads in division two, with Basil Bagshaw, Vic Hoffman and David Smart all winning twice.
As a result, Braunston B have opened up a commanding lead at the top of the division, but other teams chasing honours have games in hand.
Nick McDowall replied with two wins for the visitors, and Nomads will be able to look back on a very satisfactory league campaign themselves.
Stamford Free Church can do no more than keep winning. With Ralph Rogers now in their ranks, they will provide stiff opposition for any side as Eastfield C discovered when they fell to a 9-1 defeat. John Chambers joined Ralph in securing a full-house, and Rob Elliott won twice. JJ Otahal scored the consolation point for Eastfield, and this might still prove to be of huge importance at the end of the season.
At the bottom of the table there was delight for Bourne E who avoided defeat at the 17th attempt.
They travelled to Tallington B and won 6-4, with Ian Lines unbeaten and Debbie Cornelius a two-time winner. Jake Shouler replied with two wins of his own to help ease his team above Uffington CC B.
