A FINAL round score of 32 was enough for Adam Clegg to win Greetham Valley’s Winter Order of Merit.
It was another consistent round for Clegg, who has led the 22 week series since week 13 and whose final round included a birdie on the seventh and an eagle on the 13th.
Clegg ended with a massive tally of 311, comfortably ahead of second-placed Graham Smith on 294. David Copley was pushed back into third on 278.2 with Fraser Denholm fourth on 276.5, and long-time leader Bob Beverley slipping to fifth with 256 points.
The final round of the 2011/2012 series was held on the valley course and won by Paul Jenkinson with a score of 37 for his third win of the series. Graham Smith was second with 36, and Fred Aspin third with 34 points.
Competition organiser Neil Harris was praised by the competitors and presented with a copy of his own recently published book signed by everybody who had played in the series.
Prize money of £565 was split between the top 11 players.
Out of the 44 players who took part, 32 received a handicap cut and shared in the weekly prizes.
