Stamford Colts 10 Oadby Wyggs 22

STAMFORD Colts put out a combined U16, 17 and 18 side against Oadby on ytheir final game of the season.

The blustery conditions were not conducive to running rugby but both teams coped well and the game proved to be a good spectacle.

Stamford took an early lead with a try in the corner but were soon pegged back and Oadby took a 12-5 lead in to half time.

Oadby scored again early in the second half but Stamford fought back and the second half was an evenly matched affair with Oadby running out eventual winners 22-10.

The Stamford squad, which was mainly U16s, coped well against older opposition and were praised by the visiting coaches and referee.

STAMFORD U10 Tigers finished their season on a high beating Lincoln and Newark in mini-festival held at home.

With a Barbarian mix of players playing 9-a-side, they first beat Lincoln 6-1 with a hat-trick of tries from Harrison Sheppard, a brace from Josh Jordan and a single try from Tristan Small.

Stamford then dispensed with Newark (again), winning 7-3 with superb rucking and mauling from the forwards of Callum Robertson and Oscar Morley. Small and Charlie Titcombe both scored twice and Sheppard, Jordan and Angus Heading all scored once. They then beat Newark 5-1.
