WEEK six of Greetham’s winter order of merit was played in a howling gale on the lakes course on Saturday.

Dave Copley, who has had consistent results for the previous five weeks, had an off day and slipped down the day’s leaderboard.

Instead, Michael Fish showed what a fine wind player he is, winning with 37 points.

The scoring was lower than usual due to the wind dropping for the odd second and catching players out.

Paul Clegg had a good round and came in second with a creditable 35. He just beat third-placed Peter Bagshaw on countback.

Bob Beverley scored 33 to retake first place overall with a total of 127.5 points. Dave Copley dropped to second with 117.7 and Graham Smith retains third position with 108 points.
