Play continued in the Rutland County Netball League despite torrential rain last Thursday.
Mr Gray’s Girls achieved their first division one victory, beating Mercury 30-25.
Gray’s led from the off thanks to accurate shooting from Edwina Forefeih.
By the end of the second quarter, Grays led by 20-14 with Forefeih well supported by excellent defence from Alex Preslet and Michelle Osborne at GK and GD.
Mercury narrowed the gap in the second half with Debbie Rowe and Julie Peach scoring but Mr Gray’s Girls took the five league points.
RCNL’s B2N squad took on Stan’s Stars, and although the first three quarters were close, with Stars leading 2-1, 6-5 and 12-10 before stretching away in the final quarter to win 17-11.
Lucy Short was in outstanding form against Oakham Ospreys, helping her side Cavells achieve a 48-11 win.
Team GDB met Rutland Belles and dominated throughout to win 27-7.
