Former BRM driver Roy Salvadori dies

A FORMER racing driver for Bourne-based BRM has died.

Roy Salvadori, who raced for the team in the 1950s, died on Sunday aged 90.

He signed with BRM in 1957 but after failing to qualify for the Monaco Grand Prix, decided to concentrate on racing Aston Martin and Cooper F2 cars. In 1959 he won the Le Mans 24-hour race.

He died at his home in Monte Carlo.
