Tuesday December 14, saw the opening of Toft Golf Club’s course for the Toft Golf Club Seniors Stableford Competition (Winter Eclectic Rnd. 2 ) .
The course had been shut by the cold spell for a couple of weeks.
The two-week lay-off may have resulted in a poor performance for the average golfer but not for Chris Jones, Peter Spencer, Terry Lacey and Golfer of the Year 2009/10 Roy Lewis who played out of their skins, but that’s not unusual for these four regular winners.
And let us not forget the two third placed gents who managed 36 points, well played guys.
Results: Div 1, 1st Chris Jones 40 pts; 2 Peter Spencer 38 pts; 3 David Wynne 36 pts. Div 2, 1st Terry Lacey 40 pts; 2 Roy Lewis 38 pts. 3 Ken Wadey 36 pts.
DUE to the closure of the course at Toft because of the weather, the seniors were unable to play their three club Christmas competition followed by Christmas lunch so this year it was just Christmas lunch and the 2009/10 Awards.
The excellent three course Christmas lunch was served by the Reid family.
Captain Roger Shead thanked the members for their generosity and support for the raffle which raised £350 for his chosen charity Cancer Research UK.
He then handed over to Past Captain Terry Lacey to present the awards for 2009/10.
